Service Canada Today was founded in 2012 by a group of journalists who believed that Canadians deserved better coverage of public services & community news. We started as a small newsletter and have grown into a full editorial operation with reporters based in cities across the country.
We are independently owned and operated. We have no corporate parent, no private equity backers, and no political affiliations. Our revenue comes from advertising and reader support. Our editorial decisions are made by our editors, not our advertisers.
We cover Canada on Canada's terms. We don't measure our success by how closely we track American media trends. We measure it by whether our reporting is useful to the Canadians who read it.
Our reporters are based across Canada, with offices in Vancouver. We cover stories from coast to coast, with a particular focus on issues that affect everyday Canadians.
